The Government has committed to make children’s and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing a priority. NHS England is in the process of implementing a wider system transformation with partners from health, social care, education, third sector and employers to deliver the vision of ‘Future in Mind’
The South West Mental Health Network is launching its solution-oriented Children and Young People Programme alongside other networks in the country. The programme offers a nationally coordinated opportunity for leaders and practitioners to come together, share ideas and work alongside young people to deliver the strategy in the South West.
Children and young people and their families face many challenges with equanimity and resilience. The aim of the programme is to help partners to get things right when children and young people seek help at school, at their GP practice, through a phone line, online or at the emergency department.
We would like to invite you to ‘Future in Mind – Strategy into Action for South West England’ on 24 May 2016. The aim of the meeting is to bring together professionals, organisations, charities, schools and service users from across the South West to develop a joint working approach to improving the care of children and young people with mental health problems and to help support their carers and families.
We would urge you to attend this important meeting as we will run workshops in the afternoon for local health communities to work together to develop an achievable seamless pathway across organisational boundaries with a firm focus on service users and their carers and families. Your input into this will be very valuable.
