Martin James, Clinical Director
Martin is Consultant Stroke Physician at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Associate Professor at the University of Exeter Medical School. He is also Clinical Lead for the South West Stroke Research with a particular interest in the physiology and management of blood pressure in relation to stroke and prevention of recurrent stroke and TIA.
Michelle Roe, Network Manager
Michelle has extensive experience in healthcare. She has worked as a ward manager, Service Improvement Lead and prior to joining the SWSCN was Network Director for the Peninsula Heart and Stroke Network.
Rachel Levenson, Programme Manager
Rachel has worked in the NHS and the private sector as a clinician and manager for over 30 years. She has extensive experience in service improvement and strategic change leading on the implementation of national strategies in a PCT before joining the SWSCN.
Susan Shears, Network Assistant
Susan joined the NHS in 2005 to support the Radiology Integrated Training Initiative - the first e-learning package in the NHS. She has worked for Plymouth Hospitals Trust and the Diving Diseases Research Centre and Plymouth Hyperbaric Unit in a variety of roles. Susan brings a wide range of skills and experience from the NHS, private sector and media industry to her role with the Cardiovascular SCN.
