Maternity and Children’s Network Team

Ann Remmers, Clinical Director
Ann’s professional background is in nursing and midwifery; she has worked in both the UK and Australia. Ann has been involved in maternity and children’s health services for most of her career, most recently as Clinical Director and Director of Midwifery for Women’s and Children’s Health at North Bristol NHS Trust.

Matthew Ellis, Associate Clinical Director
Matthew brings a wealth of child health experience to the Network accumulated through a varied paediatric career commencing with a social anthropology degree, progressing through clinical training, tempered by research and development posts in Ethiopia and Nepal, and maturing over the last 15 years as a community child health consultant in Bristol. His research interests, at the University of Bristol where he directs a BSc in Global Health, focus on the public health of neurodevelopment in early childhood.

Richard Harris, Network Manager
Richard joined the NHS in 2005 as an analyst in the NHS Workforce Review Team based in Winchester before taking up post as the Workforce and Education Lead for the Central South Coast Cancer Network in 2009. In 2010 Richard’s role in the cancer network changed to that of programme manager and lead for the analytical team.

Jennie Shine, Quality Improvement Lead
Jennie has over 30 years of experience as an adult nurse, children’s nurse and midwife mainly in secondary care but also with the Children’s Hospice South West. Prior to joining the SWSCN Jennie set up the South West Neuromuscular Services Network as part of the Specialised Commissioning team.

Amy Warren, Quality Improvement Lead
Before joining the NHS in 2010 Amy taught English in South Korea and Chile, worked for a private healthcare provider and the charity Refugee and Migrant Justice. Amy has gained invaluable experience of cross-organisational working in networks during the last 4 years.

Kelle Dunn, Administration and Support Officer
Kelle joined the NHS in 2007 as a Human Resources Administrator and Personal Assistant for Bristol Primary Care Trust. In 2011 Kelle transferred to the Avon, Somerset and Wiltshire Cancer Services Network from which she joined the SWSCN, Kelle now provides administration support to the Maternity and Children’s Network.

Rachel Harrison, Administration and Support Officer
Rachel has worked in various administrative roles within Women & Children’s Services at North Bristol NHS Trust since 1995. Rachel is currently PA to the Director of Midwifery at North Bristol NHS Trust as well as providing administrative support to the Senior Management Team in Women & Children’s Health and joined the SWSCN in 2013, providing administrative support to the team.
